RTA Accrediated Older Driver Assessments
These Assessments are conducted by Accredited Assessors appointed by the RTA. TT has selected senior driver trainers, with experience with older drivers to be their Accredited Assessors.
The assessment may be conducted in the applicants car, in the local area. TT Assessors will consult with the applicant and select an area that is familiar with the applicant.
TT Assessors / Trainers are familiar with all the local areas and can give driving advice to pass the assessment.
-
Conducted by an RTA Older Driver Accreditated Assessor, the TT Assessment includes pickup from home, refresher lesson, assessment and drop off. There are some providers that promote that Older Driver's should not pay for an assessment because they can be done at the RTA for free. FACT; if an older driver FAILS their assessment at the RTA 3 times, their licence will be taken from them and they will need to go through the legal system to try and get it back. FACT; you can do as many assessments with an Accredited Assessor as is required to pass your test and we will not take your licence off you (unless you are deamed dangerous). FACT; with an accredited assessor, we provide a personalised, stress free process where it is a door to door service in your local environment. FACT; your Accreditated Assessor will provide you with driving instruction prior to your assessment. FACT; not all older drivers live close to an RTA, we take the stress out of having to get to one and driving out of your local area. FACT; it is usually the providers not qualified to conduct the RTA Older Driver Assessments that don't want you to come to us.

Courses that include Auto to Manual transmission training, overseas licence re-training for NSW RTA Licensing Standards and Instructor Training to become a qualified instructor. Instructor Audits for driving school operators including a written assessment and recommendations.
Post Licence Low Risk Courses
Low risk course. Either taken as a 2 hour on-road individual course or as part of a group that is taken over a half day with a theory and a practical component. The group (15 participants maximum) low risk course is innovative, the theory component is very interactive and taken as a group with a short group practical session followed by a 1hr individual practical driving component (same or different day). All participants will receive a workbook with supporting documents, a Certificate of Participation, A discount voucher that they can use of transfer to another person.
Young persons are still developing their cognitive skills. Young people have less well-developed risk-recognition abilities, either due to their early brain development stage and/or a lack of life experience. This lack of brain development means young adults are likely to get into hazardous situations, which they did not foresee, and from which they lack the skills to extricate themselves safely.
Driving & Anxiety Program
The programme is conducted individually. It consists of six weekly counselling sessions (1 per week) and three individual practical driving lessons with a qualified driving instructor.
Supervising Driver Course
If you are a supervisoring driver of a learner driver or are about to be, then this course is for you. You will receive 2 hours of tuition, tips, strategies, ideas, tools and lesson plans. Young people (under 25) are involved in proportionally more car crashes than any other age group. Recent findings in brain development indicate that the human brain may not be fully capable of recognising risks, and predicting consequences, until around age 25.
KEYS2DRIVE Programme (Coming Soon in 2012!!)
keys2drive is a revolutionary approach to learning road safety and the free driving lesson is an opportunity for the learner driver, driving instructor and parent/supervisor to learn it together.
The free lesson goes for 60 minutes, during which the keys2drive accredited driving instructor will explain the keys2drive learning approach - 'Find Your Own Way' – and offer examples of how it can be used when learning to drive. The remaining lesson time can include a practical demonstration of these skills being used and taught, or can be used to explain the coaching approach in more detail – whatever will be most helpful to you.
The keys2drive free lesson is not intended to replace normal driving lessons; rather, it should complement them by empowering learner drivers to ‘Find Their Own Way’ to becoming safer drivers.
Learner drivers will receive training in the best ways to practice, helping them gain the confidence they need to prepare for safe P plate driving and beyond.
Parents/supervisors will come away with tools to help their learner drivers achieve a good foundation for lifelong safe driving.
Both the learner driver and their parent/supervisor need to attend the free lesson.
Learner drivers need to bring their learner’s permit/learner licence, and their printed Free Lesson ID. Register for a Free Lesson ID now!
Parents/supervisors must bring a current Australian’s full driver’s licence.
